By using Roux ("the app"), you agree to the following terms.

Use of the App

Roux is a recipe management app that helps you organize recipes, plan meals, track pantry items, and generate shopping lists. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Subscriptions

Roux offers optional paid subscriptions (Pro and Pro+) that unlock additional features. Subscription details:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Subscription Tiers

• Free: Up to 25 recipes, 3 URL imports per month, bring-your-own API key for AI features.
• Pro ($4.99/month, $39.99/year, or $49.99 lifetime): Unlimited recipes, meal planning, pantry tracking, 75 AI interactions per month via Roux AI, unlimited URL imports.
• Pro+ ($7.99/month, $59.99/year, or $79.99 lifetime): Everything in Pro plus unlimited AI interactions via Roux AI.

AI Features

Roux provides AI-powered features including recipe generation, cooking assistance, and meal planning suggestions. These features are provided "as is" and may occasionally produce inaccurate results.

• AI is not a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice. Always verify allergen information, nutritional content, and food safety guidelines yourself.
• AI-generated recipes and suggestions should be reviewed before preparation, especially if you have food allergies or dietary restrictions.
• We are not liable for any adverse effects resulting from following AI-generated recipes or suggestions.

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

You may use your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key with Roux. When doing so:

• You are responsible for your own API usage and any associated costs from the AI provider.
• Your API key is stored locally on your device and sent directly to the respective provider.
• BYOK usage is not subject to Roux subscription AI limits.

User Content

You retain all rights to the recipes and content you create or import into Roux. All content is stored locally on your device.

Intellectual Property

Recipes imported from websites belong to their respective owners. Roux facilitates importing for personal use only. You are responsible for respecting copyright when using imported recipes.

Limitation of Liability

Roux is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to data loss, allergic reactions from AI-suggested recipes, or costs incurred from third-party API usage.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Roux AI services for users who abuse the service, including but not limited to circumventing rate limits or using the service for purposes unrelated to cooking and recipe management.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Apple End User License Agreement

This app is licensed to you by Dillon Rossman ("the developer") for use under the terms of this agreement and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). In the event of a conflict between these terms and Apple's standard EULA, Apple's standard EULA shall govern. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the app.
